Technically, the diagram below is excellent for revealing number order in the basic seven magic squares. However, they are completely inaccurate in depicting the struts of the basic magic squares since they should not be drawn with confining squares encasing each of the perimeter of these numbers. My model above , as far as struts are concerned, is proper and accurate. Lack of understanding of the bisected lines can obscure the true nature of these mathematical and geometrical marvels!
